Visiting Roger Williams Park
Roger Williams Park is named after Roger Williams, the founder of the city of Providence and the founder of the state of Rhode Island.
This small, picturesque, quaint, and peaceful park on the outskirts of Providence, Rhode Island offers a variety of unique attractions such as the Casino, Carousel, and Temple to Music.

Roger Williams Park Attractions
The casino, built in Colonial Revival Style, is symmetrical on all 4 sides and adorned with columns. Interestingly, the casino was never used for gaming. It is a reference to the Italian word and means “little house.” This building is mostly for dancing, music, and lounging.
As the favorite gathering spot for locals who wish to hear live music, the Bandstand nearby accommodates 1600 people and features a picturesque and glistening lake. And although it looks like it’s made of stone, the bandstand is made mostly of wood.
Perhaps the most whimsical attraction of Roger Williams Park, Carousel Village features multiple rows and dozens of hand-carved horses.
And, last but not least, the Temple to Music is a giant outdoor venue that occasionally features live music, festivals, and events.
The park also features a Victorian Rose Garden and a Botanical Center, but those attractions were closed during the coronavirus pandemic.
I have no idea why you are traveling to this relatively obscure part of the United States, but I commend you. This park is quite lovely and is one of the best pieces of nature the city of Providence has to offer.
